Man taken to hospital after HGV crashes into trees on the A12

A man has been taken to hospital following a lorry crash on the A12 in east Suffolk.

Officers from Suffolk police were called to reports of a collision involving one vehicle on the A12 near Saxmundham at 11.45am on Friday.

The vehicle was stuck in the trees along the carriageway, with crews from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service called to the scene at 11.50am.[1]

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed one person was injured in the incident.

The spokesman said: “We were called just before 11.45am with reports of a road traffic collision on the A12 near Saxmundham involving a lorry.

“An ambulance was sent to the scene.

“One patient, an adult male, was transported to Ipswich Hospital for further care.”

Traffic on the A12 cleared a short while after the crash.
