Pensioner faces driving ban after being caught by M5 speed camera

William Rutherford was caught by an automatic speed camera exceeding a temporary 60mph speed limit on the M5 near Worcester.

The case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on July 4 with the case adjourned so Rutherford can attend court to consider disqualification.

Rutherford of The Perthy, Ellesmere, was behind the wheel of a Volvo when he was clocked speeding near Strensham services near junction eight on the southbound carriageway on November 11 last year. The case was proved against him via the single justice procedure on May 30.

He was also caught by manned equipment speeding in excess of the 30mph limit at Welsh Frankton in Shropshire on January 20 this year. The matter against him was again proved via the single justice procedure on May 30,

The case was adjourned for a hearing at Telford Magistrates Court on September 2.
