Tribute paid to Melksham man who died in Devizes A342 crash
David Earley, from Melksham, had been riding his motorbike on the A342 Monument Hill on Saturday morning, July 27, when he collided with a Citroen van at 10am.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services, David died at the scene.
The 67-year-old man has now been remembered by his family as a "big kid, with an adventurous spirit and a heart of gold."
In a recent tribute, his family said: “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David Earley.
“David was a proud father, devoted partner, and loyal friend, loved by many.
“David always made time for others, and he’d be right there when you needed him.
“He loved the outdoors, and was often spotted around Melksham while running, cycling, and riding his motorbike with his friends - none of which would ever be complete without an ice cream."
The Melksham man had spent many years devoted to working at Avon Tyres and his family said he had kept busy doing what he loved most even after his retirement.
“He will be missed so very much. We ask those who knew David to respect our wishes for some privacy while we navigate this unbearable time," they added.
