Two women injured in crash on A-road

Two women have been injured in a crash between a car and a pick-up truck.

Emergency services were called to the A40 in Gloucester shortly before 14:00 BST on Wednesday.

One of the women has been flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with serious injuries and the other is also receiving treatment.

The A40 has been closed in both directions between the A417 Over Causeway and the A38 near Longford, with motorists advised to avoid the area.
