A456 Kidderminster Road closed after crash near West Midlands Safari Park

An A-road in the West Midlands has closed following a crash. The A456 Kidderminster Road has been closed between Kidderminster and Bewdley in Worcestershire[1] has been shut due to an accident this afternoon (August 18), it’s been reported.

The smash is said to have taken place near West Midlands Safari Park, between the junctions of Crestwood Avenue and the B4190 along the A-road. Traffic monitoring service Inrix has reported that there is queueing traffic following the incident.

In an alert issued this afternoon, Inrix wrote: “A456 in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident from the Crestwood Avenue to the B4190. The accident is near West Midlands Safari Park. Sensors indicate the road is closed.”

Google Maps showed traffic was building up on the A456 before the junction with the B4190, while there was slight traffic at the other end of the at Sutton Park Road. Google Maps reported a closure on the Bewdley Hill section of the A456, which is also located between Crestwood Avenue and the B4190.

It’s not yet clear how many vehicles are involved and if there are any casualties.
