A9 road marking improvements to start between Kincraig and Carrbridge
BEAR Scotland are to carry out essential road marking and road stud improvements along a lengthy stretch of the A9 single in the strath.
Work will be undertaken on the carriageway between the Kincraig duals and the A938 Carrbridge junction from next Monday (August 26) for six weeks.
The work will remove and replace all white lines and studs over the 12 kilometres section of the A9.
BEAR Scotland has said the work will improve visibility and ensure a safer journey for motorists.

All of the work is expected to be completed by 6am on Saturday 5 October.
Works will be carried out from 7pm to 6am to minimise disruption. There will be no works on Saturday and Sunday nights.
Two way traffic lights with a convoy system will be in use to protect the workforce and road users.
Junctions through the work site will either be controlled manually by an operative or by a third traffic light signal to control traffic joining the A9.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has taken place with stakeholders to make them aware of traffic management arrangements.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “These road marking and road stud refresh works on the A9 will greatly improve visibility and safety for road users.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete the works.
“We encourage road users to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
A BEAR spokesperson said: “The works are weather dependant and in the event of unforeseen weather conditions the above timescales for traffic management may have to be extended until works are completed.
She added: “The works will be completed in stages so only small sections of the site will be affected at any given time.”
There have been a spate of serious road accidents on the Kincraig-Carrbridge section of the A9 in the past month.
