A driver had to be taken to hospital after his car crashed into the central reservation of the M6[1] near Coventry[2]. The man, who has not been identified, is currently being treated at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire[3].

It follows the collision on the M6 southbound at junction 2, at Ansty. Warwickshire Police[4] confirmed to CoventryLive that the car he was driving, a black Audi A6, hit the central reservation and spun into the carriageway.

A lorry driver is understood to have manoeuvred their vehicle to block the motorway stretch while emergency services arrived. 999 calls were made at just after 2pm this afternoon.
