Crash ‘investigation’ live as pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries on Bromford Lane

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was badly injured in a hit-and-run crash in Washwood Heath. The man suffered ‘potentially life-threatening’ injuries as he was left for dead outside a pub[1] on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services closed off part of the A4040 Bromford Lane Eastbound from around 4.30pm, with the road closed overnight until Thursday morning. The pedestrian was left needing specialist trauma care after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver.

West Midlands Police is now hunting the driver and its passengers after the vehicle “failed to stop at the scene.” Officers urged anyone with information, or who witnessed the incident, to get in touch.
