Family tribute to ‘much-loved son’ hit by lorry while walking on M74
A family has paid tribute to a “much-loved son” who died after being struck by a lorry while walking on a motorway.
Christopher Keenan, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the M74 near junction 6 at Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, at around 3.10am on Saturday.
Police Scotland[1] said Mr Keenan, from Blantyre, had been seen walking southbound on the motorway shortly before he was hit by the HGV.
In a statement released through the force, his family said: “We would like to thank everyone for their condolences.
“Christopher was a much-loved son, brother, grandson and cousin. He was an inspiration to all that knew him, and he will be greatly missed by everyone.”
Police Scotland are continuing to investigate the crash and are still appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
