Live A14 traffic updates today as crash near Godmanchester leaves road closed

Delays are easing following a crash on the A14 in Cambridgeshire today (Friday, August 9) that saw a lorry leave the road. Lanes were shut on the westbound carriageway near Godmanchester.

The crash was first reported at around 11.10am. Two lanes[1] were closed while recovery takes place - with all of them reopening by 1.45pm

A National Highways spokesperson said: "This incident is now clear, and all lanes have re-opened on the A14 westbound in Cambridgeshire between J23 (Godmanchester) & J22 (A1). Severe delays of an hour and a half remain in the area, with congestion back to Bar Hill, but this should now start to ease."

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.13am with reports of a collision on A14 westbound at Godmanchester, involving a HGV and at least one other vehicle. Officers are currently at the scene and two lanes are blocked. Injuries are unclear at this stage."
