Live: A37 reopens after early morning crash

The A37 was closed following a crash on a nearby road early this morning[1], Sunday, August 11. Traffic was building in the area.

There has been a serious collision on the A367 near Oakhill this morning, first reported on traffic-monitoring site Inrix just after 5am. The A37 Long Hill has been closed in both directions.

Inrix reports: “A37 Long Hill in both directions closed due to accident from A367 Bath Road to Old Frome Road”

As of 11am the road had reopened. Inrix reports: “A37 Long Hill in both directions re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared from A367 Bath Road to Old Frome Road.”

Police confirmed they were first called to reports of a crash involving a car and a lorry at around 3:10am. One person has been taken to hospital and one has been arrested after a positive roadside breath test.

There were reports of heavy traffic in the area, both on the A37 and the A367. Google Maps is also showing another accident on Old Frome Road, causing traffic to build up there too.
