M32 five-vehicle crash sees man die at scene
A man died at the scene of a crash on the M32 earlier today (Thursday). Avon and Somerset Police[1] were called to the collision, which involved four cars and a van at junction one for Hambrook, shortly before 10am[2].
The driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene and his family are now being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer. Meanwhile, a woman, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was rushed to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A man who was the driver of another vehicle was also taken to hospital but has since been discharged. Police said four other people were examined by paramedics at the crash scene before being allowed to go home.
Road closures were in place before vehicles involved in the crash were recovered by 2.15pm. Highways staff are now carrying out repairs and resurfacing works to the M32 carriageway.
Investigating officers are appealing to the public for information on the collision. They are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
Avon and Somerset Police said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has dashcam or other footage of the incident. If you can help, please call 101[3] and give the call handler the reference number 5224221408, or complete our online appeals form[4].”
