It comes as the drivers were experiencing long queues at Junction 28 at Leyland following a major crash on Friday afternoon.

Emergency teams were still working to repair the central barrier on the carriageway and some lanes remained closed on both sides.

The crash involved a lorry, a campervan and car and seven people were injured.
