Woodhead Pass closed in both directions as Storm Lilian batters UK

Woodhead Pass has been closed in both directions after a lorry overturned. The incident happened as Storm Lilian battered parts of the UK with winds of up to 80mph.

The road, which runs between South Yorkshire and Derbyshire, was closed shortly before 11am. Motorists are being advised to either delay travel or divert along the M62^[1].

In a statement, National Highways said: “The A628 Woodhead Pass in South Yorkshire is closed in both directions between the A616 (Flouch) and the A57 (Woolley Bridge) due to an overturned lorry.
