A19: ‘Severe’ delays after crash and fallen lamppost

Emergency services were called to the A19 Southbound[1], before North Lane and near the Ron Perry & Son service station, after a collision around 12.30pm.

The incident sparked “severe delays” along the major road, with and average speed of 10mph reported by AA Traffic News just before 2.30pm.

An image taken from the scene showed a large white van in a ditch at the side of the A19, while a fallen lamp post could be seen lying across the road.

Cleveland Police has since confirmed that the incident was only “minor” and that there were no injuries reported to the force.

The road is believed to have cleared around 4pm.
