A419 Swindon crash: Hours of traffic after car hit tree

The crash, which took place on Friday morning, September 6, saw a car came off the A419 southbound just before the Stratton turn off and hit a tree.

Wiltshire Police officers who attended the scene have confirmed this happened at approximately 7.30am.

The crash caused over two hours of rush-hour queues along the A419 southbound which stretched as far back as Blunsdon St Andrew.

Other nearby roads such as Beechcroft Road and the B4006 also faced heavy congestion as motorists attempted to come off the A419 to avoid the crash.
