Crash blocks A862 west of Inverness

Emergency services were called to a multi-vehicle road crash on the A862 just to the west of Inverness on Friday morning.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were scrambled shortly before 11.30am to reports of a crash on the Inverness to Beauly road close to the railway level crossing junction just west of Mitchell’s Motorcycles.

It is understood the crash involved two cars and a van and that the road was initially blocked as a result of the collision.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said two of its appliances were sent to the scene and helped to make the vehicles safe.

Police and ambulance services were approached for comment.

There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured.
