Live: A49 near Hereford closed both ways after lorry and car crash
There are traffic delays on the outskirts of Hereford following a crash this morning (Saturday, September 7). According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the A49 is closed in both directions and diversion routes are in place.
The crash, which involved a lorry and a car, took place between the B4399 and the A466. It was first reported at 8.25am and the A49 is now fully shut with slow traffic building.
Inrix says: “A49 in both directions closed, slow traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved from the B4399 (Hereford ) to A466 (Kingsthorne). The closure was initially reported as southbound but sensors confirm it is now closed in both directions.
“Diversion – via the A446, B4348 and the A465 in both directions with northbound traffic following the hollow circle signs and southbound following the hollow triangle signs.”
