M6 live updates after caravan overturns in Stoke-on-Trent

Motorists are being warned of long delays on the M6 in Staffordshire after a caravan overturned in a crash. Recovery work is ongoing following the collision on the northbound side between Keele Services and junction 16 for the A500.

One lane remains closed with traffic backing up to junction 15. The smash was first reported at 3.30pm.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: “Long delays due to recovery work and accident, a caravan involved on M6 northbound between Keele Services and J16 A500 (Stoke-On-Trent / Crewe). Congestion to J15 (Stoke on Trent). Traffic is also congested on the opposite side due to the onlookers. The northbound A500 through Stoke is also congested as traffic seeks an alternative. Lane one (of three) is closed. Keele Services is located between J15 (Stoke on Trent) and J16.”
