Man arrested after fatal M27 crash has died, police confirm
Three people were arrested after 36-year-old Michal Kaminski died in a crash on the M27 near junction five on February 21.
The Polish-national, who had been living with his brother in Salisbury, was making a delivery on the south coast for Salesmark West Limited when the crash occurred.
A 32-year-old man from Yapton, Arundel, a 37-year-old man from Littlehampton and a 40-year-old woman from Littlehampton were arrested.
But today police have confirmed the 32-year-old has died.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: “We were notified on 27 May that the 32-year-old man from Yapton, Arundel, had been confirmed deceased by Sussex Police.
“The circumstances were unrelated to this collision.”
He was initially arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drink driving.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until November 21.
The other man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains released under investigation.
An inquest was opened into Mr Kaminski’s death in June with an initial cause of death given as multiple injuries.
Two other cars were involved in the crash on the westbound carriageway near Southampton[3] Airport.
Following his death, more than £16,000 was raised in a fundraiser set up by his colleagues for Michal’s younger brother Rafal.
The siblings both worked together at the Amesbury-based flooring company.
Speaking to the Echo, Rafal said his family had been left “heartbroken” and “devastated” by the incident, describing his brother as “such a good guy”.
He said Michal was “not only my brother, he was my best friend.
“He was my best mate and he was really a mentor for me. He was such a smart guy. We were really close.
“My parents, they live in Poland, we don’t have a big family. It was only me and Michal and we were really really close.
“It’s really heartbreaking because nothing is going to give him back to us, that’s the worst.”
