Man killed on A40 after being struck by lorry
A man has died after being struck by a lorry on the A40. The incident happened near Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire[1], on Wednesday evening (September 4).
The Midland Air Ambulance Charity was called to the scene of the fatal collision in Whitchurch at around 5.38pm. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer from West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a man who was the pedestrian being cared for by bystanders. Unfortunately, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased by ambulance staff at the scene.
“The driver of the lorry did not require treatment from ambulance staff.” Road closures were in place following the incident.
