Motorcyclist fighting for his life in hospital following A27 van collision involving Waterlooville man

A motorcyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries following a collision with a van.
The crash, involving blue Yamaha and a white Ford Transit Connect, took place on the A27 on Monday afternoon. Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident, which took place at roughly 5.17pm.

Sussex Police said: “The motorcyclist – a 20-year-old man from Worthing – was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains at this time. The van driver – a 62-year-old man from Waterlooville in Hampshire – was uninjured.”
The force added that the road traffic incident (RTI) took place on the westbound route of the dual carriageway at Clapham. “A section of the road was closed for several hours to allow for recovery and forensic examination, and we’d like to thank the public for their patience and understanding,” they added.
“Anyone who saw what happened, or captured any relevant dash cam or mobile footage, is asked to email [email protected][2] quoting Operation Mildenhall.”
