Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries in a collision.

Police were called by the ambulance service to the Forton Services on the M6 northbound near Lancaster at shortly before 4.30pm yesterday (Monday, September 2).

A pedestrian in his 80s suffered significant injuries after he was involved in a collision with a Volvo HGV.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Fire crews were at the scene for over two hours freeing the man who was trapped underneath the cab of the HGV.

Sgt Dan Gunn, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “This incident has left a man with some really significant injuries, and I would appeal to anyone who either saw what happened or who has any dash camera or mobile phone footage to get in touch.”
