Police issue M40 crash statement after van driver killed in lorry crash
Police have issued a statement after a van driver was killed in a crash with a lorry on the M40. The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene[1] on the M40 northbound between junction 12 and junction 13 this morning, September 12.
Det Sgt Stephen Barr said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are with the man’s friends and loved ones at this very difficult time.” The collision took place at 5.39am.
Investigating officers want to hear from any motorist in the area at the time. They especially want those with any dashcam footage to come forward.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 or visit www.warwickshire.police.uk/ro/report[4] quoting incident 42 of 12 September 2024,” a Warwickshire[5] Police spokesperson said.
The northbound stretch of the motorway remains shut and officers remain at the site. For updates on the motorway closure and traffic, you can join us in our liveblog here[6]
