Police have launched an investigation into the theft of a delivery van near a school in Derbyshire.

The Killamarsh Safer Neighbourhood Team are investigating the theft of a delivery van in Sheffield Road, near Killamarsh Junior School, at 2.50pm on Monday, September 16.

A team spokesperson said: “The silver Ford Transit, registration beginning MW23, was stolen by a man in Sheffield Road, who demanded the driver get out of the van.

“The van was found a short time later in Upper Thorpe Road, Killamarsh. The thief and at least one accomplice are believed to have used a dark coloured Ford Focus.

“Officers investigating the incident want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, in particular anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage that captured the incident in Sheffield Road, or the van being left in Upper Thorpe Road.”
