Urgent plea after man, 80s, seriously hurt in crash with mobility scooter in Nuneaton

Police have issued an urgent appeal after an elderly man was seriously injured in a collision with a mobility scooter. CoventryLive reported the incident on Coton Road on Monday (September 23).[1]

West Midlands Ambulance Service[2] confirmed that a man had to be taken to hospital with serious injuries. He was a pedestrian that had come into collision with a mobility scooter.

Part of the road was closed for several hours, causing congestion around Avenue Road. Investigations are ongoing into the incident and police want to hear from anyone who was in the area by the traffic lights.

“Officers are asking for witnesses after a man was left requiring hospital treatment when a mobility scooter collided with him in Nuneaton[5].

At around 10.40am on the morning of Monday, 23 September, a man in his 80s was reportedly struck by a mobility scooter by the traffic lights on the A444 Coton Road.

“The man was conveyed to hospital with a leg injury. Officers are now asking for anyone who saw the incident, or who has dash cam footage, to get in touch.”
