Van driver aged in 50s dies in crash on A375 at Sidbury

A man has died in a van crash on the A375 in Sidbury, East Devon, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle collision involving a Renault Master vehicle at around 10.30am on Friday, September 13.

Police, paramedics, firefighters and the air ambulance all attended the scene.

The van driver, aged in his 50s, died at the scene.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A Devon and Cornwall Police[1] spokesperson said: “A man has died following a single-vehicle collision on the A375 at Sidbury, Devon.

Emergency services were notified at approximately 10.30am on Friday, September 13, to a collision involving a Renault Master van.

“Devon and Cornwall Police, South West Ambulance Service, Devon and Somerset Fire anf Rescue and Devon Air Ambulance attended the incident. 

“Unfortunately, as a result of the incident, the driver, who was in his 50s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin were informed.

“The A375 was closed to allow for a forensic examination of the scene and recovery of the vehicle.

“Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for witnesses of the incident to come forward quoting log 0229 13/09/2024.”
