Woman in her 50s dies in massive six-vehicle crash as police launch manhunt after driver, 23, ‘fled fatal smash on foot’

 A woman in her 50s has died after a massive six-vehicle crash as police launch a manhunt for a driver who reportedly fled a fatal smash on foot. 

The deadly collision occurred yesterday evening on the M40 close to the village of Gaydon in Warwickshire.

A Peugeot van and five cars were involved in the pile up but when police arrived the driver had disappeared and is believed to have taken off on foot. 

Tragically, a woman in her 50s died in the smash. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

 Singh, who goes by the name Akash, has connections across the West Midlands and in particular in the areas surrounding Oldbury in Sandwell. 

Warwickshire Police said: ‘Investigations into the collision are continuing with officers keen to locate Singh, who also goes by the name of Akash and has connections to the West Midlands – particularly the Oldbury area.

‘If members of the public have information to help us find him or can share details about the collision, please get in touch.

‘We’d also ask anyone who has dashcam footage of the collision, the Peugeot and the manner it was being driven prior to the collision to share it with us.

‘If you can assist us, please contact us quoting incident number 303 of 28 September.’
