Live A14 traffic updates as crash in Cambridgeshire leaves road partially blocked

A crash involving four vehicles left the A14[1] eastbound partially blocked in Cambridgeshire today on Tuesday (October 1), causing delays of approximately 45 minutes. Traffic was queuing to junction 14 at Titchmarsh after the incident between Kimbolton and Spaldwick.

A Cambridgeshire Police[2] spokesperson said: “We were called at about 12.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday) with reports of a collision involving four vehicles on the A14 at junction 16, near RAF Molesworth. Lane two was closed, however it re-opened around 2.30pm. No injuries were reported.”

A National Highways[3] spokesperson said while the disruption was ongoing: “Lane 2 of (2) is closed on the A14 eastbound between J16 and J17 near Spaldwick in Cambridgeshire, following a collision and flooding in the area. Emergency services are working at the scene with contractors en-route to assist. There are delays of up to 45 minutes.”

Traffic data company Inrix reported the incident at around 1.40pm. At 2.10pm, Inrix said: “A14 Eastbound partially blocked, long delays due to accident from J16 B660 Fox Road (Catworth/Kimbolton) to J18 (Spaldwick). Congestion to J14 (Titchmarsh).”
