Live as M62 closed in both directions after lorry overturns
The M62 has been blocked in both directions due to an overturned lorry.
According to the traffic management system, Inrix, the M62 has been closed in both directions due to an overturned lorry and debris on the road. This is from junction 30 at the A642 to junction 29 at the M1.
Congestion is also building to junction 27 on the eastbound carriageway and junction 31 for westbound traffic.
Surrounding routes are also busy through Robin Hood, Rothwell and Oulton.

Inrix said: “M62 in both directions blocked, long delays due to overturned vehicle and debris on road from J30 A642 (Rothwell) to J29 M1 J42 (Lofthouse). Congestion to J27 for traffic heading East and J31 for westbound traffic. Routes through Robin Hood, Rothwell and Oulton are also heavy as drivers choose alternative routes. The M1 is also queueing back the the M621 Interchange.
“A lorry has overturned on the Eastbound carriageway and is stuck on the central reservation, with cargo across the westbound side. Trapped traffic is currently being released past the scene.”
