Live Leicestershire M1 updates as multi-vehicle crash shuts lanes

A multi-vehicle collision reportedly involving a lorry and four cars has led to traffic being held on part of the M1 in Leicestershire[1] this afternoon (Friday, October 18). Traffic information service Inrix reports that the crash has led to the closure of four lanes following the incident close to East Midlands Airport.

The collision occurred between Junction 23A (A42 for Derby/East Midlands Airport/Tamworth) and Junction 24 (A453 Ashby Road for Nottingham South/East Midlands Airport). Multiple lanes are currently closed, with queueing traffic reported in the area.
