Lorry driver dies after crash with car in Welsh village
A lorry driver has tragically died after a crash with a car in a Welsh village, police have confirmed.
South Wales Police say they are investigating the fatal collision which happened just before 10am yesterday (October 8) on Llanharry Road in Llanharan, South Wales. It involved a Volvo lorry and a Vauxhall Corsa.
The force said the lorry driver, a 60-year-old man from Ystalyfera, died at the scene. The 46-year-old male driver of the Corsa was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries, reports WalesOnline.[1]
Llanharry Road was closed all day and overnight on Tuesday for accident investigation work to take place and for the vehicles to be removed from the scene. It re-opened on Wednesday morning.
South Wales Police thanked local residents for their patience while the incident was being dealt with. The force are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any dash cam footage of the crash to come forward.
