M3 Fleet Services: Photos of milk spill that caused chaos

On Tuesday, October 8, emergency services were called to Fleet Services at around 7pm.

Firefighters from Fleet, Odiham, Rushmoor and the Alton environmental protection unit arrived to find a split in the sealant beneath the tanker, allowing a significant amount of milk to leak out.

“The already leaked milk was contained within a water dam, before it was eventually collected and taken away.”

Hampshire Police helped to manage the scene as the northbound service station was closed to HGVs and lorry drivers were urged to avoid the area.

A road sweeper was brought in to clean the affected area before firefighters left the scene following the stop message at 1:19am, more than six hours after the spillage was reported.
