Men charged after broad daylight jewellery burglary
It comes after Hampshire Constabulary launched a search to find the driver of a grey Audi S3 which the force said had been seen at or near the scenes of four separate burglaries in Hampshire.
Announcing an update on its investigation into 77 alleged offences, Surrey Police announced it has charged two men.
Terence O’Reilly, 22, of Stovolds Hill, Cranleigh, and James Carthy, 32, of Plaistow Road, Dunsfold, were both charged with burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, and two counts of theft of motor vehicle.
They both appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court on Friday, where they were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, November 7.
Hampshire police confirmed it relates to four burglaries in Fareham, Havant, Waterlooville and Petersfield.
The force said at the time that in the Fareham theft, jewellery worth more than £10,000 was stolen.
It happened in broad daylight, a spokesperson said.
