Motorist badly hurt in crash that shut stretch of A326 Hythe bypass, near Dibden Purlieu
A MOTORIST was badly hurt in a smash between a van and a car which shut a stretch of the A326 near Dibden Purlieu in both directions.
Paramedics and police rushed to the scene of the collision on the Hythe bypass shortly after 5.30am.
The male casualty was taken by ambulance to hospital having suffered a serious leg injury, according to Hampshire police.

Hours later, drivers were still being urged to avoid the area as the closure remained in place between the Heath and Hardley roundabouts.
A police spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.34am today (Friday 4th October) to reports of a collision involving a van and a car on the A326 at the Hythe bypass.
“One person has been taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.
“The road is currently closed and we remain at the scene. We ask road users to please avoid the area while the road is cleared.”
