Police issue arrest update after man, 45, dies in crash on main road
A woman who was arrested after a man was killed in a crash in north Manchester has been released on bail, police have confirmed.
The man, aged 45, was struck by a car on Rochdale Road[1] in the Collyhurst area at around 9.50pm last Sunday (September 30). Police said he was 'laid in the road' when the vehicle struck him.
Sadly, he suffered fatal injuries and died. The driver of the car - a 46-year-old woman - failed a roadside drug test on the scene.
She was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. In an update issued this morning (October 7), a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police[3] said she has since been bailed.
An investigation is continuing in the force's Serious Collision Investigation Unit. Officers want to speak to any witnesses, or anyone with dash cam or phone footage of the crash.
