A11 to remain shut overnight after overturned lorry incident
The incident happened on the A11 at Hethersett[1] at about 6.45am when a cement lorry overturned spilling oil on the road and leaving it blocked.
Emergency teams began their recovery effort at about 9.23am and a spokeswoman for Norfolk Police has said that the road will not reopen until tomorrow (Friday, November 1) morning.
A spokesman for National Highways said: “The road surface is too damaged to reopen the road today and emergency resurfacing works will be carried out overnight within a closure that happens to already be planned on this section of road.”
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the scene this morning and the driver of the lorry was taken to the hospital.
The extent of their injuries is not yet known.
