Cattle rescued after being involved in motorway crash near Stafford

Crews from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service [1]were called to the incident on the M6 at junction 13.

It came after a station manager had spotted the incident while on his way to work where the trailer, which contained five bulls, had overturned.

Four crews, including an animal rescue team, attended the scene along with a Unimog truck and used specialist equipment to get the trailer back up on four wheels, with the animals then moved to a safe place to be checked by a vet.

The animals were found to be well and uninjured and will be returned to their home farm, while the carriageway was later reopened.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service[2] said: "Fire crews have helped rescue some cattle that were involved in a road traffic incident recently.
