News and Info from Deeside, Flintshire, North Wales

Work has begun on the installation of average speed cameras along the A548 in Flintshire.

The cameras are being installed between Llanerch-y-Mor and Mostyn as part of an effort to improve road safety.

The project, a collaboration between Flintshire County Council and North Wales Police, is funded by the Welsh Government. It aims to address the high number of serious collisions along this busy route.

The A548 has been identified as a priority area due to numerous collisions, some resulting in fatalities or serious injuries.

It is hoped that the new camera system will encourage safer driving behaviours and reduce the risk of accidents.

The installation work, expected to last four weeks, includes setting up warning signs to inform drivers of the new enforcement measures.

The cameras will monitor vehicle speeds over a designated stretch, with penalties issued to those exceeding the speed limit.
