Live: A30 closed due to multiple vehicle crash and fuel spill

The A30 is closed in both directions this morning in Devon and Cornwall. The A30 is closed between the A388 junctions of Liftondown and Launceston (west), where the two counties meet, due to a serious collision involving a lorry and other vehicles. Traffic monitoring site Inrix first reported the accident at 8.01am.

The collision is one of a number of incidents affecting Devon and Cornwall today as the impact of Storm Bert[1] is hard-felt. The National Highways confirmed that emergency services were at the scene, including Devon and Cornwall Police. A fuel spill has also been confirmed by the police as the incident is being dealt with.

Devon and Cornwall Police said that two people were injured in the incident. The road is expected to be closed for "some time". This is a live breaking news incident.
