Live updates after serious collision between a pedestrian and a lorry closes town centre road

A town centre road closure[1] was in place following a serious collision between a lorry and a pedestrian. The incident occurred on Wednesday, November 13, at around 12.15pm.

Derbyshire police were called to the incident at around midday, after it was reported that a lorry and a pedestrian[2] had been involved in a collision on Buxton road, Ashbourne.

As a result of the collision, St John’s Street at the junction with the A515 was closed with Derbyshire police recommended that motorists planned alternative routes where possible.

Derbyshire police[3] have stated that there is no further information at this time of when the road will be opened or further updates regarding the collision.

As a result of the collision Google traffic map has reported that there is heavy congestion[4] in the area of the crash, with a build up around the A515 Belper Road Eastbound as well as the at the junction where the collision took place.
