One killed as lorry overturns in motorway crash
One person has been killed and a stretch of the M6 in Lancashire has been closed after a lorry overturned, hit the central reservation and landed on the opposite carriageway crashing into the back of a car.
The motorway was shut in both directions between Junction 33 near Lancaster and 32 near Preston after the crash at about 11:20 GMT.
Police said several other people had been seriously injured and emergency services including an air ambulance were at the scene.
National Highways said there were long delays on both the north and southbound carriageways, with the road expected to be shut for several hours.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said the lorry travelling northbound crossed on to the southbound carriageway and hit a number of other vehicles.
He added: “Very sadly the collision has resulted in one fatality and a number of other serious injuries.
“Our thoughts are with all those affected at this time.
“Emergency services remain at the scene and the motorway remains closed in both directions between junctions 32 and 33 while we continue to deal with the incident.
“The closure is likely to stay in place for some considerable time so please check before you travel as diversions are in place.”
Fans travelling to Preston for tonight’s Championship football match between Preston North End and Sunderland have been warned by both clubs about traffic delays.
