Unusual loot found in this cloned HGV after Warwickshire police sting
Boxes of stolen Calpol were found when police stopped a cloned HGV in Warwickshire. Members of Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU) made the discovery when they intercepted the lorry on the A426 Leicester Road in Rugby.
They found that the items had been stolen from a lorry that was parked up in Crick in Northamptonshire. The vehicle was also linked to a high value theft of TV’s in the Northamptonshire area on October 12
As well as seizing the lorry, the officers arrested two men. They also stopped a car in convoy with the lorry and arrested another man.

All three suspects were held in custody overnight on October 14 before being released on police bail pending further enquires. It was the latest action from the OPU team who also stopped a car linked to the theft of £600 worth of items from a store in Leamington.
A dog handler car managed to get behind the car and with the assistance of officers from West Midlands Police[5], they the vehicle was stopped. The driver, who has not been identified, was arrested and the stolen items were recovered.
