What we know so far about the ‘serious’ crash on the A69 at Throckley
A serious collision[1] involving a lorry took place on the A69[2] in Throckley[3] late on Thursday night at around 11.30pm. The emergency services rushed to the scene and the road has now been shut for 12 hours. We have heard from the police and the ambulance service about precisely when they were called and what their response has been thus far.
Two ambulances[4] were rushed to the scene. This is the latest. What happened?

And what don't we know? As it stands, we do not know if or two what extent anyone has been injured. While at least one damaged vehicle has been seen on the scene, it is not clear whether further vehicles may have been involved.
What have the police said? "Shortly after 11.30pm yesterday (Thursday), we received a report of a collision on the A69 westbound at Throckley. Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene."
What has the ambulance service said? In a statement, a North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic incident at the junction of A69 and Ponteland Road shortly after 23:30 last night (Thursday 28 November). We dispatched a specialist paramedic, a duty officer and two double crewed ambulances.."
