Woman fighting for her life in hospital after van and mobility scooter collision in Scots street

AN elderly woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being struck by a van.

She was riding a mobility scooter when the collision happened on Cumberland Street in Glasgow[1] yesterday.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene near the junction with the A730 Caledonia Road after the alarm was raised around 2.30pm.

The 65-year-old was riding a blue mobility scooter when she was struck by a white Renault[2] Trafic van.

She was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for emergency treatment.

Her condition is not currently known but her injuries have been described as life-threatening.
