Woman in her 80s injured after crash on busy Leicester road

A woman has suffered potential leg and abdomen injuries after a collision on Leicester’s[1] Belgrave Road. Police closed off the area for several hours. The collision happened at around 5pm on Monday evening (November 25) when a pedestrian and car came into collision in Belgrave Road[3].

The pedestrian, a woman in her 80s, was taken to hospital with possible injuries to her leg and abdomen, police said. The severity of her injuries has not been established. The collision prompted officers from Leicestershire Police[4] to close off Belgrave Road for several hours and was reopened at around 8pm, according to a spokeswoman.

She said: “Police were called shortly before 5pm yesterday (Monday 25 November) to a report of a collision involving a car and pedestrian. The pedestrian – a woman in her 80s – was taken to hospital with possible injuries to her leg and abdomen. The road was reopened shortly before 8pm.”
