32-Year-Old Indian Student Dies In Road Accident In UK, 4 Others Injured
An Indian-origin student died in a road accident in eastern England's Leicestershire while four other people were hospitalised with serious injuries, said the police. Chiranjeevi Panguluri (32), who was in the passenger seat died on the sport as the car ended up in a ditch. The three co-passengers, one woman and two men, along with the driver were taken to a hospital, the Leicestershire Police said of the accident which was reported on Tuesday morning.
The 27-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but was later released on bail. "Chiranjeevi Panguluri, 32, was the passenger in a grey Mazda 3 Tamura, which was travelling county bound from Leicester towards Market Harborough, before leaving the road and coming to rest in a ditch," a police statement read. "Mr Panguluri, from Leicester, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other passengers, one woman and two men, in the vehicle and the driver were all taken to hospital. The two male passengers remain in hospital with serious injuries which have been described as not life-threatening," it added. The police sought to speak to "anyone who may have been travelling along the A6 on Tuesday morning and witnessed the collision." The police also urged the people to check whether they have captured any footage on dash cam equipment.
All the persons involved in the car crash reportedly hail from Andhra Pradesh, according to a PTI report. Last week, an Indian student was shot dead in Edmonton, Canada and the police arrested two people in connection with the incident. Harshandeep Singh, 20, was pronounced dead at a hospital after officers found him near a stairwell when they responded to the reported gunshot in an apartment complex.
Evan Rain and Judith Saulteaux, both 30 years old, were arrested in connection with the killing and charged with first-degree murder. The specifics of Singh's injuries were not disclosed by the police. A CCTV footage of the incident was released in which a man and a woman were seen walking down the hallway.
The man was heard yelling as he lifted and pointed a large gun and appeared to shoot someone off-camera multiple times.
