Arrest after van and Volvo collide on A46
Police made an arrest for alleged drink-driving after a collision on the A46. Leicestershire Police[1] said yesterday (Wednesday, December 11) that the incident happened near Birstall[2] on the busy dual carriageway. Officers said of the crash, which caused traffic queues: "Fortunately none of the occupants were injured and unsurprisingly the Volvo had minor damage in comparison to the van. We then began to conduct enquiries at scene as to how the collision took place, whilst ensuring that both drivers were breathalysed."
One person was arrested, said police.

The officers added: "Thank you to those caught up in the tailback whilst we dealt with the arrest and removal of the vehicles."
