Four vehicles involved in crash that killed woman, 24, on bypass

A Jaguar X Type, a Vauxhall Mokka, a Ford Ka and a Peugeot 207 were all part of a crash that proved fatal for Poole resident Linda Hesford. She was walking eastbound on the busy A35 towards the Shell garage when she was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday evening, December 4. Concerned motorists had phoned the police just moments before raising concern for the 24-year-old's welfare.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "The collision remains the subject of a detailed investigation and we are unable to go into any further details at this time." Linda, from Poole, was born in Latvia before moving to the UK and was a junior buyer. At an inquest opening into her death, the court heard that a post-mortem examination was carried out by Dr Jenkins at the Holly Tree Lodge on December 6.

Dr Jenkins recorded a medical cause of death as multiple injuries.

Linda's husband Steven Hesford paid tribute: "Linda was angelic and positively affected all who knew her.

"With a heart so big and a soul so beautiful, we were blessed to be in her presence."
