LIVE M60 traffic updates as crash involving car and lorry closes three lanes with five mile queues
Drivers are being warned of long delays on the M60 this morning after a crash between a car and a lorry today (Tuesday, December 17). Lanes are shut on the anti-clockwise carriageway between between junction 13 for Worsley and junction 12 for the M602. More than five miles of congestion are reported in the area as a result of the incident, which involves a car and a lorry.
There are delays of more than 30 minutes against expected travel time. There are five mile queues with delays of more than 30 minutes following the smash . Traffic reporting service Inrix is reporting three of the four lanes on the anticlockwise carriageway are closed.
According to National Highways queues are backing up to junction 18 Simister Island at Prestwich. Traffic also appears to be backing up towards Bolton on the M61 following the crash near one of Greater Manchester's busiest motorway junctions. Inrix reported: "Long delays, queueing traffic for 5.5 miles and three lanes closed due to accident on M60 anticlockwise from J13 A572 Worsley Brow (Worsley) to J12 M62 J12 (Eccles Interchange).
Congestion to J17 (Prestwich/Whitefield)."
